A Singer's Tips on Fighting That Nasty Bug!

Since my Last Video Post on Instagram, many of my students, and parents of students, have asked me: “How would you Avoid catching a cold?” In my many years of Singing, I have learned a few tricks to try to avoid catching that pesky Cold or Flu. Now they don’t work all the time, sometimes no matter what you do, getting sick is unavoidable! But some have saved my life, when it was crucial I NOT GET SICK! I’ve already mentioned Rest is Best in my last video but here are a few natural remedies I have learned to use in my career to prevent that pesky bug from taking hold! 1) Echinacea is your friend- I find the Liquid version in Water- works best! Tastes like Ca-Ca- but can be very effective. As soon as you feel any kind of tickle in your throat, get onto it! Also, it apparently can only be used for a couple of weeks, then it’s ineffective. Check with your Doctor about it’s use.

2) Have you tried Gargling with Warmed Salt Water when feeling a soar throat coming on? Also tastes like Ca-ca. But, well worth it, if it works to kill whatever is lurking in your throat!

3) Vitamin C IT UP! You cannot have too much of this Vitamin, you’re body will just get rid of it if you have too much. Drink it, eat it any way to Smash it In Ya Face- do it! And it DOESN’T taste like Ca-ca! 4) We have this thing called- Arma Force in Australia, it’s in Pill form and can be found at any Pharmacist… It is what ALL the Performers I know use when feeling even a mere tickle in their throats or low energy. It has a MIXTURE of EVERYTHING Natural you can think of… why not throw everything at the little invader- I mean it is WAR! You cannot afford to get sick. But do watch your intake of this Pill as well, and be sure it’s right for you. Of course, there is no cure for the common cold, and you should always be smart and consult your Doctor and Pharmacist before trying any health suggestions.
